I agree we should not rejoice in human suffering.
Unfortunately, Brazil is a dangerous place. I've been there a number of times for work. Most places seem quite safe during the day, except crowded places will have a lot of pickpockets. At night its a different story and the middle-class in big cities often live like they are under occupation or seige. These motorcycle thugs show zero respect for life. They'll kill you for a dollar - so in turn, otherwise good people in Brazil have zero respect for them.
This will be this country in about 50 years at the rate we’re going.
