Its not about stupidity, its about how best to humiliate the US and hopeful destroy and sink the left’s hated USS Reagan (CVN-76) and its battle group - now in the SCS. The loss of well over 5,000 sailors would be a bonus for the left and a feather in Xi Jinping’s third term re-election bid cap.
The whole bunch are morons. The confusion probably arises from conflicting focus group results. No one in the White House or Pentagon has enough sense to realize the risk being taken here. Pelosi’s focus group guru tells her, “show womanly strength and go”. The WH is focus grouping its latest focus grouped response and the CIA is probably debating how the unfortunate death of Pelosi might be incorporated into their diabolical schemes.
