6 to 1 (length to width) seems proportional for a barge-shaped boat, which would probably handle rough water better than something round, wide open and flat.

It seems that if it were floating with outdoor open areas, there would’ve been no need to send birds out to bring back branches/leaves. Noah could’ve seen that with his own eyes.
Birds greatly increase the distance that can be covered. An aircraft carrier has lots of outdoor open area, but the curve of the earth conceals stuff.
Of course if the earth is flat, and Noah’s vision is good enough, no need for birds.

There is a real Noah’s ark in Kentucky. It’s called the ark encounter. It’s a true to size boat that shows how Noah and his family lived. You can take a tour on YouTube. It’s beautiful and doesn’t look a bit like that.

Professor Irving Finkel -Noah's ark was round !!
Of course it was round. It didn't have sails or a motor so it didn't need a pointed end to cut through the waves.

i’ve heard rectangular to maximize the amount of interior space, and boat-shaped to make it easier to steer. Either one could be described as length x width.
