Japan gets hot summers.
I lived through three in Hayama (near Tokyo) and one each in Kanazawa and Imabari (Ehime), they're worse than here in central FL but I don't remember temps that high.
I just thought it was odd that NHK had to pick Obama as their example, no town named after the present WH inhabitant but there is a Jo Baiden of sorts as a town mayor.
