Funny thing about powdered drink mix....we’re all very familiar with the “Drink the Kool-Aid” thing. That was connected to Jim Jones and the mass ‘suicide’ at Jonestown in Guyana.

Truth is, they used a cheaper knock-off called “Flavor-Aid”. Kool-Aid was not involved.

Wow I remember those! My neighbor use to make it and freeze it to make pops and it was delicious! Of course today the company would be protested out of business.

Sweetened with sodium cyclamate as I recall. Same sweetener used in the effervescent soda tablets “Fizzies.”

I've always thought this was inspired by Chinese Cherry. It was made by either Richard Matt or David Sweat the two convicted murderers who escaped a maximum-security prison (2015) and left on the pipe they cut open to crawl through when they escaped.
