I would say if you pull back on the throttle and you’re going slow already, that might get you down real quick. JMO

Yes, that could result in a stall. That's why pilots are taught not to do that. This pilot certainly flew the plane for miles after the engine quit, but obviously couldn't find a suitable landing spot in time.

Aviate, Navigate, Communicate.

Trim for best glide, look for suitable landing area(s), Transmit a Mayday & broadcast location.

THEN troubleshoot the issue.
