A bipartisan group of senators has announced two new proposals to change federal election law regarding the Electoral College count.
The two bills are called the Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act and the Enhanced Election Security and Protection Act.
These bills are meant to end the ability for future Presidents to use the avenues Trump and his team attempted to use.
After months of negotiating, a group of senators announced two proposals Wednesday designed to close gaps in federal law and prevent future candidates from stealing elections.
The measures — called the Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act and the Enhanced Election Security and Protection Act — are led by Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.
The bills seek to close loopholes in election law that then-President Donald Trump and his allies tried to exploit to keep him in power despite his defeat in the 2020 election. The first bill would clarify the vice president’s role in counting Electoral College votes, raise the bar for members of Congress to object, and try to prevent fake slates of electors from interfering in the process. The second is aimed at protecting election workers.
Trump responded by saying that this change proves Pence had the authority to send the electoral votes back to the states.
So the Democrats, RINOS, and almost ALL others said that Mike Pence, or any V.P., had absolutely no right to do anything but send the “Votes” to the Old Broken Crow, Mitch McConnell, even if they were fraudulent, corrupt, or highly irregular. The V.P. was merely a “human conveyer belt” and could do nothing. BUT NOW, the DEMS & RINOS are working to pass a Bill that stops the V.P. from doing what he was not allowed, according to them, to do. It was all a “Big Lie.” Should have sent back to States!

We’re in a very dangerous time period where the communist Dems try to cram through a bunch of legislation before going on recess to go home and campaign. Pray that we make it through unscathed.

Isn’t this a matter that requires an amendment to the constitution?
Is Orwell still alive? Only he could come up with such names for the bills they shove down our throats.
It’s like the “ministry of truth” , the exact opposite of the name.
If he was using 'loopholes', isn't this admitting that what President Trump was doing was legal, if perhaps questionable (as his critics would claim). If it is a 'loophole', the January 6th witch hunt is a waste of everyone's time
if they have to change the law doesn’t this basically mean trump wasn’t breaking it?

Just like, “Protecting the unborn Act” will be the title of an abortion expansion and funding bill.
