No such thing as a class III permit. Anyone here, as long as they can pass a background check, can buy a machine gun made before 1986, as per the Hughes act. Only those can be transferrable. I hate people taking about a class III license like they know what they’re talking about.
At 18 he can sign up for guaranteed employment for the next four years and they’ll give him an even better version, teach him how to use it effectively and give him plenty of practice. They’ll even let him decide if he wants to stay a boy!
To clarify the above, all machine gun receivers produced pre 1986 are generally all transferable. After the gun control act of 1986 passed, only the receivers made before then are legal for us to buy and own, WITH NO LICENSURE. Since there were only so many receivers produced pre-86, their numbers dwindled over the decades in terms of availability, and that’s why a full auto M16 for example is the cost of a house. Machine guns after the late 80s became a rich boy’s game.
All that’s needed to own a machine gun assuming you can afford one is a background check and NFA crap, I forget the name of the form but it’s a tax stamp. Wait times vary between weeks to several months
Class III license is shorthand/common parlance for Class 3 SOT. Specifically Tax class 3 as a dealer.
Happy now? Most people don’t know all the details and don’t know the exact ATF forms so they just say Class 3 license.
A class 3 isn’t an SOT. An SOT is just a $500 a year license to make machine guns but are still not legal to sell. People are talking about buying/selling. An SOT would be no help here. I know 2 SOTs and they both get irritated when people talk about a class 3 license which plain DOESN’T EXIST.
Furthermore, any FFL can become an SOT, just pay the government $250 more dollars every July on top of their $250 they’re already paying for their normal FFL. Most people don’t do this since there’s so money in it as the machine guns they produce cannot be sold. Only rented at a range like I used to do.
Hmmm...
Isn’t “AK” a designation for Alaska?
AK-15 could be a state route near the arctic circle...
I'm sure he's always the smartest person in the room.
Same here!
It blows my mind that any 18 year old kid can just walk onto a football field and get a job at $200 Million per year just because he can shoot a basketball.
Unfortunately, Most morons/idiots don’t realize that they have no idea what they are talking about but insist on talking anyway.
AK-15, from creator of AR-47
Normal people don’t have that kind of money. And in my case, I wouldn’t waste it on an automatic if I did have the money.
Yes, I’m aware you have to become a licensed gun dealer. I’m furthermore aware you have to fill out various ATF forms, get a couple passport photos, get fingerprinted, get interviewed yada yada yada.
The shorthand for saying all those steps and naming the exact forms is “get a class III permit” because its class III for tax purposes on the form for the actual business you must have to be a licensed gun dealer.
