Joe Manchin and Chuck Schumer looked at loggerheads after their talks on a sweeping climate, tax and health care bill ran aground nearly two weeks ago. In fact, they were working on Washington’s best-kept secret.
On July 18, four days after Manchin and Schumer’s talks seemed to fizzle out with only a limited health care deal, Manchin reached out to Schumer to see if he was amenable to picking things back up. By Wednesday afternoon, they had a deal on a bill that includes energy and tax policy, a turnaround after the two deadlocked on Democrats’ marquee party-line agenda.

No way. In the end, he always supports his beloved party.
The Senators are the biggest whores in the country. No one should be surprised at anything they do. Reforming the Senate should be at the top of everyone’s list of political reforms needed in the good ol’ U. S. of A.
and over 100 billion for irs audits and enforcement. Manchin deserves to hounded forevermore.

IMHO a tax increase this close to an election won’t happen.
It’s more likely to me that Dems can bitch, moan and fundraise on “the mean Republicans blocked us from doing really good things”.
They don’t need any Republicans, because it’s part of reconciliation.
If tax increases are included, they won’t go into effect until January 1st, at the earliest.
It’s amazing how there’s $300+ billion for climate change B.S., but no money for the border wall.
I could be wrong, but I do not believe that this bill will be able to be part of the reconciliation process. It has too many material changes from the original bill and I don’t believe the Parliamentarian will allow that.
Yes, I know that these are Democrats we are talking about. We’ll see.
