According to tweets from pro-lifer Stephen Horn, the Raleigh Police Department is declining to charge the driver of a Ford truck who drove off the road toward pro-life activists who were volunteering as sidewalk counselors outside an abortion business last month. Horn is a relative and fellow church member of the alleged victims.
The group of pro-lifers had gathered outside A Preferred Women’s Health Center abortion facility. A Hand of Hope Pregnancy Resource Center, operating as Your Choice Pregnancy Clinic, is adjacent to the abortion facility. The pro-lifers were in front of the abortion facility when the Ford Escape veered towards them.
“One anti-abortion protestor who was standing at the near corner of the road and the clinic’s driveway jumped out of the way to avoid being hit,” wrote Horn.

In a follow-up tweet he explained, “The driver swerved far enough off the road to bottom out on the edge of the pavement, leaving visible scrape marks. The sound was loud enough that the clinic security came out to make sure everything was okay.”
According to the Raleigh PD, “The incident was investigated and there were no charges filed.”
Witnesses, however, told Horn, “It’s unclear what the investigation involved. We provided the tag number in the initial call to the police and the officer on scene never asked for that, or the make and model of the vehicle (which we had). Despite physical evidence on the scene (tire marks and scrapes on the pavement), several eyewitnesses, and the clear danger presented to several people — including several young children — when the vehicle lost control before swerving back on the road, there seemed to be little interest from Raleigh police to even question the driver. Since they had his tag number, that would be a real possibility.”
Attacks against pro-lifers have been rising in recent months since the Supreme Court draft decision of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization was leaked in early May. Pro-life organizations and churches have been firebombed, graffitied, and set on fire across the nation with one specific group, Jane’s Revenge, taking credit for most of the attacks. The Biden Administration has refused to condemn the violence and major media outlets are mostly failing to report it.

They have their orders...
The eye witness must have been mistaken in what they saw. Because as long as I have been on Free Republic, the Dogma is that the Police are on our side. The same concept applies when BLM and ANTIFA burned buildings and beat up on Trump supporters. The witnesses were mistaken in what they saw because if any buildings were set afire and Trump supporters were beaten up, the Police would have arrested the wrongdoers. After all, they are on our side.
They think it morally just to attack and murder those who disagree with killing the unborn and claim to be morally superior and tolerant while justifying such violence.
Maybe the abortion fan figured murdering a pro-lifer in the street was making up for lost time when they could have killed him as a pre-born baby but didn’t get to do it.
If folks are not convinced the police and DA are the enemy, then nothing will convince them.
I have had it will all cops. None can be trusted
The police are about as honest, hardworking, and trustworthy as any other government employee.
When the justice system fails to deliver justice, justice should be delivered by any other means available.
Back the Blue.
“..When the justice system fails to deliver justice, justice should be delivered by any other means available....”
That is exactly what they’re hoping and pushing for.....
They may get more than they bargained for....BIG TIME.
The police are not your friends. They are the paid Jack-booted thugs/enforcers/bullyboys of that state. They are hired based on their willingness to enforce the rules of the criminal state. They choose to be law enforcement, not out of any desire to “protect and serve” the public, but because they enjoy pushing people around and doing so under cover of law makes pushing people around even easier. Of course, the additional stipends they get from criminals ranging from mafiosi to street corner drug dealers are also an inducement.
So many law abiding, “salt of the earth” type people are used to a friendly cozy relationship with police, and view them as the “good guys.” This has been the perceived situation for some time, so that “back the blue” and respect for the police, viewing them as good and integral parts of societal order is .... or has been... the norm.
However, when moral rot sets in, the rot affects every institution. Why should you consider it odd if that rot and corruption affects police? It does, you know. I know there are cops in here, many of whom are NOT on the cusp of the transformation to despotic little tyrants, and (worse) those who actively work to suppress our rights and become a kind of ruthless enforcer of little tin pot dictators.....,, but it is silly to pretend that this is not occurring in our culture. You see it in the anti gun pogroms and willingness (sadly sometimes the EAGERNESS) to trample our rights in the quest for “security.” It is worse in states where the left is in power, as the unchecked authority is bent towards goals which are blatantly evil. I see vids of Canadian pastors swatted on the highway, guilty of nothing more than the ghastly crime of publicly gathering to worship God outdoors during “Covid.” Now this... not is Canada, NYC, California, or Colorado... but here in Raleigh...
I heard ..... I think it was Beck...., who said the most important elections will NOT be for president, but for states’ attorney generals. They will decide who to prosecute, and who not to. The police WILL follow their leads. In NC, the police are part of a lawless order, increasingly committed to ideology over law.
If you just blindly wallow along, assuming “Protect and Serve” are operative phrases and that the cops are there to ENFORCE THE LAW, even (rather than to be keepers of the peace), you are going to find that the transition in your view of authority will be more painful than it need be.
For those of you who are more biblical in your views, there is a REASON why the world order of authority, political power, and judicial operation is referred to as a “beast.” (no, the silly insistence that this primarily refers to a “man of sin” or “antichrist” is nonsense).
The same bible which has Romans 13, also has the entire book of Revelation, which over and over portrays the entire world authority system as a beast, drunk on the blood of the saints, hostile to God, hateful to His people, and opposed to anything that challenges its claim to ultimate authority.
Although revolution *IS* in our vocabulary, the normal response to which we are called is: a) suffer injustice b) resist peacefully c) revolt peacefully d) flee and only at the end of this can we e) take up arms....., and even then not willy-nilly, but choosing to associate with a so called “lesser magistrate” in an attempt to replace corrupt power.
Just saying. It is worth considering that our relationship with the police has not changed......, and yet it has. Their perceived mission is going to reflect the general cultural ethos, and as that ethos becomes blind to intrinsic rights (and their source..... duh!), it is just going to be about enforcing power.
How are we to view this, and how are we going to teach our kids to view this? A mindless recitation of Romans 13, as though those were the only section of instruction we have, is not only surface and glib, but an actual IMPEDIMENT to thinking in a wholesome manner about authority, and figuring how we are to live in light of the current mess.
We are about to have a chance to rethink our fealty and extent of submission to the authorities in light of their (increasing) hostility to the Lordship of Christ. It is better to do it now, rather than try to figure it out when the boots are kicking in the door.
I do not trust anyone these days. It seems this past few years, everything I believed in and the folks I trusted have all been a lie.
“U.S. House leaders block resolution condemning violence against pro-life pregnancy centers, churches”
Doesn’t surprise me, since it is the Media-Dem Party footsoldiers carrying out their orders.
Prosecute Democrat political operatives?
I got rear ended at a red light in Raleigh by a Hispanic driving an F 250. No one hurt, significant damage to my car. The lady cop would not give him a ticket because “he had enough problems already”.
Cool, then we can run over leftists.
“Back the Blue.”
Maybe they won’t shoot you with the proper bumper sticker.
