Worst episode yet.

Three episodes left. I don't know where they go from here--but I'm so glad they're giving us all this Gene time.

Anything can happen here.

Couldn't guess how Walt and Jesse's reappearance fits in, though.

I enjoyed it, but ... I don’t know where there going with this.

I don’t even think there was a dog named Nippy. I think he made it all up.

I’m just now finishing the episode; IMO the recast of Jeff was a good fit for his role. Old Jeff was good for creepy and menacing, but new Jeff seemed to be the right man for the episode.

“I don’t even think there was a dog named Nippy. I think he made it all up.”

Agree. I think he planned to run in to Jeffy’s mother as an inroad to Jeffy. He just “happened” to run in to her, then messed with the wiring on her scooter as a reason to get into her house. - think that from earlier meetings with J he had a feeling from earlier meetings that J might be receptive to helping him pull a caper — like his friend in Chicago.

Jimmy/Saul has been a bad dude as long as we’ve known him, but you kinda had to like him anyhow. In this episode he was truly unlikeable. A real stinker.

And what was the purpose of the theft? Not a lot of money was involved. I think he’s a thrill junkie and wanted to get that high again.

I do have a craving for a cinnamon bun.

Jeff was a threat (this was more believable with the original actor). Jimmy/Gene neutralized the threat by concocting this elaborate shoplifting scheme. All of the things they stole were just enough to make it a serious crime (a felony?) with jail time. And Jimmy made sure they used an out of state truck to transport the stolen goods so that added an extra 10 years to the sentence.

Now Jimmy has something to hold over Jeff and his accomplice Ricky, if they ever decide to blab about his true identity. "Mutually assured destruction."

Problem solved (maybe). But did this awaken a sleeping giant in Jimmy? He got that high again, like you said. Can he go back to the Cinnabon life after all that?

The preview for next week's show has a car at a crossroads. Does Gene hit the road and search for Kim? He had to know she was from Nebraska. Maybe she went back there after the split.

One thing I do know ... this was the only episode without Rhea Seahorn, and boy was her absence felt!

Right. That was a good speech Gene gave. Now I see that was the whole reason for the theft. It makes sense now.

He couldn’t help but do that “It’s showtime” gesture with his fingers, I think he did get a kick out of it.

I wonder if they came up with this story and realized the original actor wasn't the right person for the job.

New Jeff was more of a pushover, and he added a little bit of comedy to his performance.

I'm picturing Old Jeff doing all that running ... in the snow and then in the mall. Wheezing, out of breath, mouth hanging open. It makes me queasy, lol.

Plus I don't believe Old Jeff could have fit inside that Trojan Horse crate. They may have needed a smaller actor.

If somebody gave me 100 guesses at the answer to the question “What television legend is going to appear in an episode of BCS?” I don’t think I would have come up with the name Carol Burnette. She was great though.
