LONG POND, Pa. -- The siren at the Dawsonville, Georgia, pool hall that sounds whenever Chase Elliott wins a race did indeed go off Sunday night without the hometown star ever leading a lap at Pocono Raceway.
"Winner, winner Joe Gibbs Racing are cheaters!'' the Dawsonville Pool Room tweeted.
In an extraordinary decision for a NASCAR Cup Series race, Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin had his Pocono win thrown out and runner-up and teammate Kyle Busch also was disqualified after their Toyotas failed inspections.

Must be the new NASCAR - pretending rules matter.
False flag attempt to bring back some viewers that had long left NASCAR for watching something else. lulz /s
“The new car is a kit car”.
So they all race the same cars, no innovation allowed.
No wonder I never watched another race after they banned the Superbirds!
a good driver knows cars
a great driver knows the tech inspector
Wow, I’ve never heard of anything like that.
I kind of like these new cars. It’s up to the driver to win races now.
NASCAR has become the joke of professional sports. A bunch of clowns being run by a bunch of goofyass clowns. All over a little piece of twine used for a garage door opener that caused the heads of racist morons to explode. Congratulations NASCAR!
It is the first time this season a race winner has been disqualified.
“Yeah, unfortunately we were doing our post-race inspections, which we do,” said NASCAR Cup Series managing director Brad Moran.
“There were some issues discovered that affect aero of the vehicle. The part was the front fascia. There really was no reason why there was some material that was somewhere it shouldn’t have been, and that does basically come down to a DQ. It is a penalty, both for the 11 of Denny Hamlin and the 18 of Kyle Busch have been DQed. Their vehicles are being loaded in the NASCAR hauler and they’re going to go back to the R&D Center.”
Before I completely flushed Nascar out of my life, I witnessed the PRE-race inspection where the car rolls under a template, which then is lowered down over the car. Each and every car MUST fit into the template.
Back in the day, if a Ford or Chevy won on Sunday, more cars were sold on Monday. Now, they are just driving templates.
On the bright side, there was one race during the Obama years that I treasure to this day. Mechelle Obama was enough of a fool to try and use a Nascar Sunday race to promote something ‘for the children.’ As the announcer began notify the crowd that there was a very special guest, Mechelle came out with a young child. When Mechelle’s name was announced, one could hear the cacophony of booing. The look on Mechelle”s face was priceless, no doubt she was thinking about those rednecks who cling to their Bibles and their guns. I was very proud of Nascar fans.
Ridiculous
Did they find a ‘noose’ in the first place finishers car?
Did George Bubba Wallace ever apologize for his racist actions?
That's why they call it "stock" car racing, because they're all built from the same stock parts.

So would not a pre-race inspection discovered the anomalies?
Do it before and after, in case there might be some pit hanky panky.
Sounds like somebody put duct tape on the vehicle.
bump
Conveniently benefiting NASCAR’s golden boy.
Hope to meet up with Joey Logano. He raced against my son (first family) when both were in quarter midgets at Silver City. His attitude on the track today is the same as when he was in quarters.
