I was unimpressed by Vegas, but did find it interesting to watch people at the roulette table. Often, someone would put some chips down on a number and the fidget with them, moving them frantically from one spot to another before the wheel spun. What were they doing, I wondered. Then I remembered reading an article which suggested that future events triggered a “pilot wave” which traveled backward in time. Were these people trying to sense that faint pilot wave, and is this what we call an “inkling”?

...no, an inkling is like, CS Lewis or JRR Tolkien, people like that. It is interesting, though, how gambling kind of automatically separates people into types. Ever see the Tchaikovsky opera “Queen of Spades?” Some really get into it... some really don’t... and I’m sure there are a lot of varieties in between (or maybe on different axes).
