The other day I was talking to a guy who works in the retail grocery business, and he said that one of their biggest problems is just finding people who will show up every day.
My son walked into the high-end restaurant in the county and asked “I hear you are looking for servers”. They said “Can you work tonight?”.
He had never worked in a restaurant and has an Accounting degree. He is making major $$

My son started work as a senior in High School.
First job, produce department Wal-Mart. For ever job he has had, he arrives early, stays late if needed, works overtime to stock shelves.
The new store he works at should have at least 6 employees; they have only 4.
Oh, I should add he never calls in sick unless he is really sick. He missed three days of work because of a flu virsus (not COVID); I stopped in the store and four employees and two managers came over worried about how sick he was.
