I know a woman who is a friend of mine who had an abortion at age 20. The father, a bully and redneck was insistent she abort the child and she was estranged from her family at the time and I didn’t know her yet, she was alone aside from the boyfriend. He took her to the clinic and she complied with his demands. Some 30+ years later she still regrets that decision. We are friends and she told me in her early 20’s broken and sobbing and said I have prayed and begged God to forgive me and I told her if you have and have repented He says He will forgive your sins and cast them as far as the east is from the west and if he forgives you, you need to forgive yourself.
She has been a fierce advocate for the pro-life position, reconciled with her family and they have a great relationship and she has been a staunch member of her church, but as far as I know I am the only person she has ever discussed this with.
AMEN!! The discussion of after seems to be ignored. I bet she has helped many in making the right and moral decision.
What a sad story. That’s the part the “pro-choice” crowd always leaves out: sometimes it’s not the woman’s choice but the man’s to abort the child. He forced her to abort, but she’s the one who will live with the guilt.
