It’s supposed to be a micro or mini rotary running quietly at its most efficient range. Light, small, efficient and purpose built. We’ll see if Mazda is on the right path with electric drive backed up by rotary power generation. They have plans for their bigger vehicles to use the same setup.
I have a CX 30, same power train as the bigger vehicles. Gets about 36 mpg at 85 mph on a highway trip. Nice car for the money. This is not your Mazda of the 20th century.
