That was a very effective slogan because it implied that the Marine Corps didn't just take anybody. You had to earn the title Marine by proving yourself worthy of being one of those "few good men."
Nowadays, there are no such standards. Even if you like to wear your sister's pantyhose and makeup, you are welcome to join and your drill instructors may even be forced to address you as "Ma'am" in boot camp or any other silly pronoun you want to be referred to as.
No real men would want to sign up for that.
Then on top of that, you have the COVID vaccination requirement. It's a wonder they can find anybody at all to sign up these days.
