My point is that niacin-containing products and nicotinamide products taken in high concentrations (greater than 500mg daily) may cause elevations in liver enzymes. It is in their prescribing labels, in the Warnings section.

I am not exactly sure what you consider ‘fake niacin’. However, to be clear —to err on the side of caution— I am strongly suggesting that those pursuing high-dose niacin daily get their liver function evaluated periodically.

There was confusion. I was mistaken. No “amides”. Those are the cause of liver issues. Real nicotinic acid does not.
