Wow, that is tough.
Miscarriage is common enough in nature that the female body is already designed to handle it appropriately. Letting things happen naturally seems wise to me if the woman can handle it and doctors can be monitoring the situation.
I’m not sure what other options your relative had, but some of the “interventions” are unpleasant enough to make me prefer the natural route.
Well, it was devastating, of course, but she recovered and was devoted to, and lived for, her husband and child.
