I have a former co-worker who raises exotic looking snakes and he posts them on Facebook. He’s not a dumb guy but on this matter I think he’s an idiot. Eff snakes and not to be trusted as pets.

I had a next door neighbor who had a 14' anaconda that he'd take out and wrap around his body to carry around. One day the snake decided he was food and started constricting him. He was about 6'5" and a former college football player, all muscled up and strong as a bull. He said it took every ounce of strength he had to get the snake off of him.

Snakes brains do basically mammal brain stem functions and little more. They don't recognize owners, friends, etc. You're either food, not food, a threat or not a threat. That's about as deep as they think. That day the snake decided my neighbor was food and he almost was.
