The content of those sessions, in my experience and what I have heard described, is hard-core leftist woke-ism, and it poisons the company. To the extent that HR is able to control hiring and promotion, “Diversity Inclusion and Equity “ (DIE) is their first, last, only priority. Competence is irrelevant. I suspect that the phenomenon is worse in some industries than in others.
I’ve just never seen a qualified candidate sought by producers get shot down by HR; money talks, and the rest is theater. You may have whole non-critical departments staffed by tokens, but the leadership knows where they can fake it and where they really need talent.
