Yes, years ago my recently widowed mom fell and broke her wrist. It was just a steady downhill slide after that. She passed within three years.
My mother in law broke her left wrist in early December. Still trying to recover. Worse, her right side fine muscle control was destroyed by a stroke 18 months before that. Difficult, and she fights getting help and resuming her PT. Would rather sit and watch TV movies.
It is always so sad to see a loved one decline that way.
My grandma died shortly after she fell down a flight of stairs and broke her hip.
