It would be really nice if they could just re-route traffic for a day or so.
Just give them NO press, no visibility. Let them figure out how to get themselves un stuck.
Give them long enough to crap themselves. look awful. Only then send a crew in to un stick them, give them a bill for the freeing up, as well as cop detail to re route traffic.
And make sure that the news gets front page “protester poopy pants freed”
Usually, I point out that some 95% of the personal woe in this world is self-induced. But this fellow was shooting for 100%.
Guess he achieved some kind of notoriety. His “friends” will be telling this story on him for years.
