Remember the drill for a nuclear attack? Now THAT was an exercise in futility. Children are precious but so easily conform to people in authority over them. Parents and grandparents should always risk whatever it requires of them to give the guidance they need for life.

Vividly . I also remember the civil defense drills when everyone had go indoors until the all-clear siren blared . One time , I think I was 7 , my buddy and I were playing near a tiny mountain with a clear view of the southern sky in front of us . The siren went off and we ran to the woods just in back of us and got flat on the ground , watching the sky . Just then we heard the sound of a jet approaching . We though it was the Russians coming ! Breathed a sigh of relief when we heard the all clear a few minutes later . Hehe...
