Yes, it’s in the attic. The condenser is outside. I guess what I mean is the only air getting into the attic would be through the AC filter in the hallway of the house. The one you change ever month or so.
So the electric fans in the attic that are on the roof blow the hot air in the attic outside. Those have made a huge difference in cooling the attic. I mean at least 20 degrees. You simply couldn’t go in the attic before. Now at least you can...if you have to. I would recommend the electric motorized fans in the attic over the wirly birdy things. More expensive, yes, but probably much more effective and worth it.
Thanks. I’m sure it makes it cooler. Koolply or equivalent works wonders but that ship has sailed. Some say the net gain for the energy it takes for the fans vs. reduction in AC load is negative. I think most of those guys sell attic encapsulation or foil radiant barriers.
I’m going to build a test rig tomorrow and run it for a week and see what happens.
