“House of the Dragon” is already righting a “Game of Thrones” misstep.
The upcoming spinoff prequel series has a more racially diverse cast, including an elite Black family comprising the House of Velaryon, a central ruling family with deep political ties in Westeros.
Co-showrunners Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik set out for a “reimagining” of George R.R. Martin’s original books when bringing them to the screen. The spinoff premieres August 21.
“It was very important for Miguel and I to create a show that was not another bunch of white people on the screen,” Condal told Entertainment Weekly. “We wanted to find a way to put diversity in the show, but we didn’t want to do it in a way that felt like it was an afterthought or, worse, tokenism.”

I disagree. GoT was one of the greatest television series ever (even if the finale wasn't great). It was the perfect vehicle for today's modern large screen HDTV home theater system.
Sucks they're going to screw this one up. Oh well. At least it should have some good visuals and hopefully, world-building. But it won't be GoT. Not by a long shot.
This prequel has the 11th Doctor’s actor (Doctor Who) Matt Smith as the semi villain and I expect him to more or less carry the show.
Then when they realize he is doing it, they will write him out.
I can see why no one wants public comment on published articles. I’m thinking that selecting roles based on race is apartheid. The producers of this new show probably don’t want to hear that. So I guess I’ll just not watch it, ever.

Blacks are cast way out of proportion to their level in the populace. It is getting kinda overdone to be honest. At what point may we say we don’t want to watch something that is just another bunch of blacks moiling around onscreen? (Asking for a growthful concerned friend.)

Man did you nail that! The second I hear that gravelly pretentious back of the throat whispering I’m outta’ there. That got old way back in the 50s when it was done to signify high art or something like that.
When will they correct the lack of minorities in Wagner?
Those are Velaryons, not Targaryens. Still, they should be white as they came from Valyria. Of all the families in HOTD, Velaryons are the easiest to make non-white. They are a seafaring family who could have intermixed with southern islanders.

Night Sky was so awful, I felt bad for JK Simmons. Truly dreadful. It was pseudo-scifi meets slow motion with terrible dialogue; a story that was painfully nonsensical.
It's easy to do this in a way that is logical but instead they will make it a $#its how like Bridgerton where they have a bunch of Blacks in pre-Victorian Britain whicu didn't make sense at all because it was not historically accurate.

I’ve read that UK movie & TV series can’t get funding unless there are roles for minority actors\actresses. Making sense is irrelevant. There’s a Georgian England costume drama series with black actors\actresses having roles of Lords\Ladies, etc. There’s a UK TV series on Anne Bolyen and she’s black. Visually these series just look ridiculous! There’s another UK series about 1950s\1960s Belfast, blue collar lower class Belfast and its well populated with all sorts of minorities. Again not even remotely historically accurate in the numbers presented. History is being rewritten to include people who weren’t there, i think primarily because it’s cheaper easier to do then write actual new plausible material. Of course the intellectual fraud and laziness is being disguised as “woke”. How fraud and lies helps these minorities escapes me.
They should actually use whiteface.

Bosch and Reacher aren’t garbage, but Amazon is horrific at doing fantasy.
Haven’t watched anything from Hollywood or the Anglosphere in years.
