EVERY Primary so far in 2022 - Red States or Blue States has seen dismal turnouts for GOP registered voters.
Ohio - Indiana -Kentucky - Illinois, etc. Had less than 20% voter turnout. And competitive primary races made no difference in the number of GOP voters.
This is a very bad sign for November.
Primary Turnout Points to GOP Wave in November
The biggest story for Republicans from the 2022 primary season so far isn’t former President Donald Trump. It’s rank-and-file GOP primary voters. They’re showing up in big numbers and they aren’t taking orders from Mar-A-Lago.With primary elections completed in 13 states — five of them swing states — political consultant John Couvillon of JMC Analytics and Polling found a 38 percent increase in Republican primary turnout over the 2018 midterms.
Meanwhile, net Democratic turnout was up just 1 percent.
Votes for the Republican ticket outnumbered the Democrats in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Ohio — all key battleground states in 2020. And Democratic turnout was down in seven states, while GOP participation was up across the board.
Primaries and non-presidential elections always have fewer voters. That’s nothing new.
I hope more Republicans vote than democrats in November. It’s a matter of turnout. The democrat base is waning in low morale, due to the economy. The dems will have to cheat MORE than 2020 to pull this one out, and it isn’t a single person election like the presidency. Don’t forget that we made gains in the House, and the senate was only spoiled by Mitch’s failures in the Georgia runoffs.
So not as many people voting so far, and yet over 130 Trump-endorsed candidates have won.
What’s his track record? I don’t know—the web is hiding that—last I could find was June, shows 130-12.
Pretty damn impressive so far.
I’m not going to give up before the election.
