Dig out enough soil for a shallow pie plate which is level with the ground.
Fill pie plate with Stale beer (if therei s such a thing)as the odor of fermentation draws the slugs.
The slugs will indulge in the beer, and pass away, drunken, with a smile on their antennas.

Beer in a pie pan worked for slugs in Phoenix. Being Phoenix, not much stale beer there, either lol.
