Well, she is a Romney, after all.
This just an absurd choice.
Milwaukee used to be a nice alternative to Chicago. Cheaper, nicer people, less chance of being killed. I would go there for Summer Fest, German Fest, Festa Italiana. It has really changed in the last 20 years or so. I don’t go there anymore.
It’s time for the Republicans to get off the plantation. Choose a suburban location. They consultant class probably isn’t even aware of the fact that when you get outside of the big cities, counties, not cities, control the spending, so could host a convention. But also: why does a convention have to cost $300 million? Answer: Tax loopholes akin to money-laundering.
Long Island, NY: 3 million suburbanites, turning Red. Big arena, whose name I forget but which used to be the Nassau Colliseum
Deep State thinks Trump will be the nominee...
Florida would have been a good choice.
Stupid for Milwaukee. High crime, site of Rittenhouse riots.
Should have picked Michigan or Ohio even.
Columbus? i did not know that.
The entire North East side of Columbus is Somali territory. Les Wexner brought them in as cheap labor for The Limited warehouses.
There are at least 100,000 Somali’s who live in Columbus, Ohio and that number is growing.
One of the few cities in America that knows how to make Polish kielbasa and German knockwurst.
thanks for that info.
that’s a gosh- darned shame.
now that the Limited has gone bankrupt, can they send ‘em back? :)
What the hell is the matter with the GOP? Yes, Milwaukee WAS a nice city, but it has become a shithole. Typical way in which the GOP snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.
As we saw in 2020, both parties held virtual conventions because of the virus. So there is no real need to have this big meeting in person. It’s just a big party for loyal party members/activists.
Everyone here talking about crime , etc. in Milwaukee. is there any city in America which doesn’t have crime, black on black shootings, drug problems, etc. where this convention could be held? Go down the list, and every big city in America has something wrong with it.
Amazing, Milwaukee has had about 25 years total of republican governorship. The rest were Democrats and three actual socialist. So this is either real stupid or maybe real in your face!
Cities to consider for hosting the RNC, if your goal is winning, rather than “money-laundering” taxes in exchange for influence:
Miami, Florida (Purple trending red)
Jacksonville, Florida
Virginia Beach, Virginia (Purple, trend towards blue halted)
Colorado Springs, Colorado (Bluish, but recoverable)
Mesa, Arizona (Went blue, should be inconceivable to not be red.)
Las Vegas, Nevada (Purplish blue... nevermind. Stay away.)
San Antonio, Texas
Waco, Texas
Branson, Missouri
Not SURE about these mayors, but these are suburbs and modest-sized cities with huge convention centers:
Conroe, Texas (Houston)
Dayton, Ohio
Des Moines, Iowa (purple)
Duluth, Minnesota (purple, still blue but heading red)
Duluth, Georgia (should be red, isn’t)
Fort Worth, Texas
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Gatlinburg, Tenn
Galveston, Texas
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Green Bay, Wisconsin
Greenville, NC
Hampton, VA
Knoxville, TN
Lebanon, TN
Longview, OR
Louisville, KY
Norcross, GA
Oshkosh, WI
Pasadena, TX
Reno, NV
Rosemont, IL
Schumberg, IL
Shawnee, OK
Shreveport, LA
St Charles, MO
Tunica, TN
West Palm Beach, FL
This is just insane. GOP completely out of touch. Did they have an intern google search for cities with mostly peaceful protests and rank them on the most deaths of non-rioters?
Where is the GOP base? Pick a city and state where you know the police and politicians will protect your members. They will be like kindling in a blast furnace. Dumb dumb dumb aka GOP.
Another thought this is in case Trump runs then they can burn the convention to the ground live and blame him.
