So, why did the Republican House and Senate do nothing?
The Republicans promised to Subpoena and get to the bottom of it, and did nothing. Why believe them now?

. But it was President Trump who made the mistake of appointing Sessions in the first place. You can't blame the Republican Senate for that.
Of course GOP Senators were going to back Sessions who'd been their colleague in the Senate for a long time. Nothing new there.
But Trump should have sacked Sessions long before he finally did, “threats” from Senate or not.
Senate can't impeach anybody without the House which Republicans controlled.
