Okay, personal story that just happened to me this week.
For more than a month I have been having problems with breathing. I first noticed it when I went to get our mail one Saturday. We do have a steep driveway; but, I have done this for decades without a problem.
I got the mail, came back inside the house, climbed the stairs (not that many) to the living room and I was completely out of breath. I had to sit in my chair and gasp for breath for about 7-10 minutes with my hubby standing next to me wondering what was going on.
So, I can't go get our mail without great difficulty. Going up and down our stairs is now a problem. It has gotten to the point that if I walk down our hallway from the living room to the bedroom, I am out of breath by the end of it (not a long hallway) and must sit down to catch my breath. Also, I have noticed that I am having some swelling in my left foot and ankle area.
So, off to the doctor to see what is going on. She gets in the room (Asian woman) and notices that I have not put on the mask that they provided me. She says, "I am not helping you until you put on that mask." Hubby tells her that I am having trouble breathing; but, that means nothing to this mask nazi and she again tells me to put the mask on. I, again, tell her that I am having problems breathing. She gets up and leaves the room. Hubby is incensed and tells her that she is inhumane for not understanding. (You guys don't know my hubby; but, he is a very patient, low-key kind of a guy. Yelling at a doctor about her inhumanity is not usual for him.)
So, I still don't know what is going on with me. I cannot do the simplest tasks without needing to rest in order to get my breath. My life has changed, a lot, and no help in sight.
Can you find a different doc...or a PA who has a brain?
