PD’s are short-handed. He might have been logging way too much overtime. Not enough rest, and stuff like this happens. Without mitigating circumstances, I could see this guy getting disciplined. A year ago:

Too many decades of the “Us against Them” mentality has led to today’s unbridled arrogance of LEOs as well as the citizenry’s lack of respect for them.
The rubberband can only be stretched so far before it either snaps back or is broken forever.
