There are likely more sharks in New York waters today.
“And that’s a good thing,” said Christopher Paparo, manager of Stony Brook University’s Marine Sciences Center.
Sharks are increasing because they’re hunting smaller fish like bunker, Paparo said in a statement provided to The Post. The population of bunkers and other fish has rebounded after they dwindled decades ago due to overfishing and pollution, he added.

What a bunch of bunker.
I remember the lifeguards getting everyone out of the water decades ago as a child because sharks were near (in NJ); after everyone was out small fish started throwing themselves onto the shore (apparently fleeing something), and a bunch of fishing boats showed up close to the beach. After about twenty minutes they let everyone back in - no attacks.
If they are not woke shark..I want nothing to do with them.

Out at sea in the West and South Pacific we trolled with spoiled ham on meat hooks with a chain/cable leader a few times... once, in the morning the chain leader had been bitten off.
Orca loves a great white liver, almost surgically removes it, and will share the nutritious meal with the pod. A great white shark liver can be up to 1/3 the weight of the shark.
I fish these days, and rarely go in. I used to slide in with spear if the fish weren’t taking the hook. Very productive at times. Never had the electronics.
Our bureaucrats are injuring, killing, impoverishing us, and people are worried about sharks?!
I’m sure Deep State would like that.
I have to admit, sharks are not at the top of my list of things to worry about.

Sand Tigers are a protected species like a white shark, so you can expect more of them to be around. -Tom
