Since you are part of the medical community, do you know if the following is true? Are “peer reviewed” articles in medical journals based on the summmaries found on pharmaceutical research articles because the peer reviewers do not have access to the data upon which the summaries are written.
I read this and would be outraged if it is true. We are all aware that pharmaceutical companies have a vested interest in making their products seem as “save and efficacious” as possible.
That is standard for all journals I know of. The summary stats and graphs are shown but the size of most data sets makes it unreasonable to publish.
