A 15-year-old boy died in a house fire after an Albuquerque SWAT team launched tear gas into the home while going after an adult suspect, reported New York Daily News. The police tracked the suspect in question to the home where the boy was and used the gas to draw them out. The boy never made it out.
Police were looking for Qiaunt Kelley, 27, who was wanted for violating probation for an armed carjacking and stolen vehicle charge, per the NY Daily News. The report says Kelley fled to a home where 15-year-old Brett Rosenau later walked into. Authorities say they tried for “several hours” to get the two to leave the house.

SWAT teams just keep doing stupid things.
It’s like “Florida Man,” but it always ends in needless death.
So, I guess you can say such SWAT teams are more stupid than “Florida Man.”
Was the suspect his dad or his mom’s girlfriend?
No matter the kid would still be alive ..is not for mom and whoever her questionable guest was.
What? They didn’t have a dog to shoot?
Was the suspect his dad or his mom’s BOYfriend?
No matter the kid would still be alive ..IF not for mom and whoever her questionable guest was?
You’d think by now that someone would have invented a way to disperse tear gas without the need for fire or heat.
“No matter the kid would still be alive ..IF not for mom and whoever her questionable guest was?”
If not for the jackboots who just follow orders.
So... what was the role of the deceased juvenile in the crime? As far as the police knew, could the juvenile have left the premises without the perp’s permission. Maybe there is more to this; hopefully there is, I guess.
Just like at Waco, they used tear gas (which is flammable) AND flash bangs, which are incendiary at the same time. Not a smart combo.
Qiaunt?
The house had no doors or windows?
Kid was in a wheelchair?
He was tied up?
Pretty sure anyone who wants to get out of a house can do so.
Unless, you know... Elizabeth Smart.

Maybe he believed you were outside waiting.
We’re better off without him
Maybe he was busy texting you about selling some gently used underpants.
How much did you pay?
Maybe he was busy texting you about selling some gently used underpants.
How much did you pay?
No more or less than you usually do.
Who’s to say the kid was innocent? The picture when he was 8 holding a dog?
These news stories are half assed at best. I’ll wait for the social media pics of him holding a gun and flashing gang banger signs but at least I’ll wait for the real story.
If people read the story the police tried to get both of them to come out. We don’t know if the 28 y o was using the kid as a hostage do we?
You’re a dick, of course you know that.
The single most important detail is whether the “teen” was a hostage or an accomplice. Leaving that out is incompetence or malice, you decide. I think it may be a clue that the picture of the “teen” is from when he is 6 or 7, not a recent.
Speaking of malice or incompetence, if the kid was not a hostage there was no reason for the JBTs not to wait them out. If he was a hostage burning the house down around him seems a pretty poor rescue.
