In a year and a half the spending power of every American has been diminished. Millionaires and welfare recipients together have less real money in their pockets and more real problems in their lives. It’s harder to feed kids, fill tanks and pay bills. And there’s no relief in sight.

AND your income taxes are not pegged to inflation like many teachers salaries, Social Security recipients, and public pensions. Like Dr Friedman said “Taxation without representation”

At some point wages will have to go up. This will add to inflation but only at the margins. Employers are still stuck the old 20th century mode of setting a wage then try to find someone. They have it bass ackwards.

You pegged it shortstop. Good writing and so very true. We haven’t been going on any camping trips in our old RV just because of the gas prices. We set it up in the backyard close to our firepit and “camp out” for a couple nights. We pretend we’re at some nice lake or along a great river and that’s our mini-vacation. Better than nothing. I haven’t seen my brother in months because he can’t afford the gas to come see us and we really can’t either. We chat on the phone more. Life is great...yeah, sigh.

$7,500 to $10,000 a year per family. The price of “no mean tweets”!
Stupid voters.
