I'm not missing the point here. You are. Russia's war has nothing to do with NATO or the Ukraine border or homosexuals, or Orthodox Jesus or who is or is not president of the US. Russia is a flat country with open ground that has no natural defenses. They intend to expand out until they get to geographically defensible points. Two of those happen to be on the western side of Ukraine.

Their religion does not change their security policy, Putin plans to push through all of Ukraine, part of Poland and all of the Baltics. I’m mad at Russia for wasting their wealth, then being so greedy they want to supply all the gas and oil to Europe. Therefore they have seized Crimea surrounded by gas deposits and fomented separatism in Donbass so they can also seize the gas, oil, and coal resources there as well as all the industrial capacity already built. In addition they have willfully destroyed as much as possible of cities and towns that they don’t need to steal all the underground mineral resources. This is about resources not ethnicities except to a minor fixable degree.
