He is right about them being out of step since Roe V. Wade was overruled. Until that time, the pro-choice people were in step with the national Democrat Party because the party had a national strategy based on holding key blue states and fighting in swing states and ignoring “flyover states” which had little population and electoral votes. As long as abortion was protected as a Constitutional Right, that worked for abortion activists. But now, with the issue being thrown back into the states, the activists and Democrat Party has been caught flat-footed. They can no longer simply write off states which didn’t matter in the national elections and now must fight state by state with many of those states meaded by Republican governors and legislators.

Yah - that's part of what's behind all the hysterics. They lost an advantage, now have to work a broad spread out battlespace, with a lessor guarantee of desired results along with a larger risk of having their slimy tactics exposed and countered. The game has changed, no longer easy to take for granted like it had been.
