RIP

He directed the quirky A Boy and His Dog, based on the Harlan Ellison story. I always picture him with Warren Oates.

***He directed the quirky A Boy and His Dog,***

I noticed that last week when I watched that movie!

In THE WILD BUNCH he was T.C. In the scene with Strother Martin (”Liar. LIAR! BLACK LIAR!”) when they loot one of the victims. “Come on T. C. Get his boots!” if yo will notice, while T.C. is getting his boots Martin is looting and hiding the stuff from the victim’s pocket.

Other than directing, he also did a bit part in A Boy And His Dog, that of a porn star (uncredited) in a movie within the movie. And he wrote much of the screenplay.

“Quirky” is an understatement. However the movie deserves a place in the pantheon of bizarre and unique 1970’s science fiction films.
