“How did things get this crazy?”
A friend was stressing out that his pool had a rip in the liner. I thought about our daily intake of war news, assassinations, crime, drugs and I thought, Wow, that’s a first world problem. I can’t imagine anyone in Africa, for example, ever giving a second thought about a pool issue. I mention this because I think the answer to your question is buried in it. Think. When was the last time anything life threatening happened to either the nation or you personally? From the perspective of humanity as a whole, we live in fantastically benign times. I know nine out of ten people would disagree with this statement. We are living in a golden age. Think about it. For millions of years what we call “the poor” have lived short, brutish lives. In America, their biggest killer, despite what CNN would have us believe, is obesity. Talk about your First World Problems.
Now my answer to your question. We have nothing going on in our lives, but we are predisposed by our survival instincts, television and our entertainment to live at a level of extreme stress. But, looking around, our extreme stress are pool liners, a dint in our thirty-five-thousand-dollar car and whether to have the Korean beef or American pot roast for dinner. So, as we finally have time to gaze into our navel...wait?! Is that a woman trying to get out? Oh my gosh! Everyone is discriminating against me because I have a woman inside trying to get out!! (Okay maybe that wasn’t stressful enough. Maybe I’ll start suing people to force them to call me her and miss. Yeah, that’s the ticket.)
If America had to suddenly mobilize to fight, say, an alien invasion do you think we’d see even one more article, lawsuit or commercial the sole intent of which is to show how woke the company is? Nope. All those men with women inside would suddenly jump into uniform and it would have pants and low heels. The answer is, we are so bored we have to make stuff up to achieve the adrenaline junky high we’re predisposed to need.
Sigh. I’m hoping for an alien invasion. The sooner the better.
The blame lies squarely with RINO-controlled state legislatures and judges of PA, GA, AZ, WI, and MI, who refused to enforce voter ID, rolled over on allowing the cheat-by-mail-in ballots and dropboxes, allowed counting to go on well past election day, and refused to investigate sworn affidavit claims of cheating by poll watchers. This also resulted in the loss of three Senate seats (2 in GA, 1 in MI) which handed control of the Senate to the Dems.
RINOs are the reason for the woke clown world we must now endure.
