Burner phones when turned on, used once in a stationary position, and tossed, work fine to hide the person’s identity.

It is when you travel with it turned on where other data points can pinpoint you, such as a video camera on a highway, that the phone is now associated with you.

If you use the phone twice, same thing. You are participating in the process of elimination to identify you as the phone source. Example: You were at Point A and now you are at Point B and turn on your phone at each point and use it, so who traveled between those two points? Cameras, license plate readers, your car’s hidden cell phone (most new cars use Sprint to communicate) and other sources can pinpoint you as having been in those two places.

Hence, burner phones are a use once in one place and toss it.

Also, use once in one place means not in a place you ever go to. Ever. If you do go to a place you frequent, you become a prime suspect. Even if you pace with your phone as you talk, your movements give you away. “Who else goes there and paces with their phone? Hmm, he does.”

There is also no such things getting lost in the noise of data. An exabyte, or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes, or a million trillion bytes, can be searched in seconds. That would contain all the cells phones world wide and their tracking data captured every few seconds for over a year. You can never be lost in the noise. Make a mistake and you can easily be tagged.

If you are using burner phones, you’ll need to buy more than one.

That makes sense. The “burner phone” trick must be for the real pro criminals who know to use it only once and at a location they have never been to or will ever go to again, then quickly dispose of it.

So they should be able to track down the Antifa nut who emailed that, unless Antifa has been getting pro tips on the burner phone thing.

Thank you!
