Prediction: What has gone up (prices) will not be coming back down. That newly inflated price will become the new base price.
There may be a few acceptions, one hopes.

The price of a crate of 5 dozen eggs at the local store hit $18, and came back down to $14. Eggs sold by the dozen oddly remained at $2.70 throughout.
Prediction, if oil spikes again, which it probably will, food prices will rise.
It’s not over yet.
That newly inflated price will become the new base price.

And the packaging will stay at the current, smaller sizes.
Prices may come down, but not back to what it was before, except maybe seasonally/regionally for a few areas when *the season* hits.
