Yep, that movie freaked me out for a life time, and years later I actually went shark fishing off the coast of Long Island and saw a great white up close. Nothing is more terrifying, to see that shadow under the water WOW knowing that if anyone fell in they’d be ripped to shreds. We had the water all chummed out meaning we dumped chopped up fish and blood in the water to attract the sharks and wow, they were all over. Later on with the ones we caught, we cut them up into shark steaks and the meat was still moving, quivering even when we put it in the fridge!!

I grew up in a coastal town in Israel called Gush Katif.

We dealt with these sharks a fair amount. They’re pretty harmless most of the year, but mid-summer they chase prey fish right up onto the beach. If you are the way, you will get eaten.
