The US is about 4% of the world's population. The notion, whether from the political right or the political left in the US, that we can "maintain" our "privilege" -- recall Biden said the US has to lead the new world order -- has been delusional. And delicious fodder for the neocons and neolibs who seem to love military spending today, in the midst of a debt of over $30 trillion and growing by leaps and bounds.
Having shut off SWIFT from Russia, the fuel for a competing alliance and "basket of currencies" in which the non-Western world can have a say without being beholden to SWIFT and Biden and the "Nuland/Obama" war makers, this is compelling to them. The stupidity of the current crop of Dems has added impetus and speed to a new order which leaves the US with a significant competitor. And with markets of billions of people and free from the "sanctions" restraint of NATO and Biden and the EU.

Sad times but I think we will all be amazed at the speed of decline and the efforts of the elite to maintain power.
Think how many nukes that got lost in the USSR breakup and who ended up with them. DS will light the fuse to start wars to maximize carnage. Beyond the giant city areas that can’t feed themselves in the west/east the future will be globally destructive.
