Not discovering evidence of other theories is also success. The project isn’t a bust; it’s falsifying theories that aren’t proven by its testing. 99% sure in theory isn’t as good as actual empiric results.

This is money well spent.

Being wrong is essential to scientific discovery. But to my knowledge, particle physicists have not told us what they have learned from being wrong about the results of the LHC. They have not revised their methods of making predictions for new particles. Since the Standard Model was completed in 1970s, particle physicists have made thousands of predictions beyond the Standard Model and EVERY SINGLE PREDICTION in the past 40 years has been WRONG. This is like the socialist who insists socialism works, despite a century of evidence that it does not. Science is hard, but this is not normal. Scientists should learn from failure and it has become clear that particle physicists, like socialists, refuse to learn.
