I actually recommend his works, highly. I actually have not read them all, well, not finished them all, but though it has been years since I read them, any of them. Cryptonomicron has for years been my favorite.
I have long loved studying matrices and coding. The whole business of Francis Bacon and Elizabethan codes has so intrigued me for decades.
Stephenson builds on the works of mathematical Masters. It is reminiscent of Douglas Hofsteader and his works, except that the mixing in of actual History, real war stories, and a whole lot more is simply the the sort of stuff that is almost impossible to extricate oneself from. One simply has to contend with it all in order to perceive the point.
From your description, that is way, way beyond my pay grade. I could barely grok the Biernutz article. I have my limits. Math and related fine tuning is beyond me.
wait, what ? I thought that came with being a ginger.
posting blind, excuse if already reported....
Watching the video of tonight’s speech by President Trump (video on YT, search “Trump Las Vegas July 8, 2022”) ....
Forward to about 54 minutes to get to President Trump.
BREAKING ANNOUNCEMENT FROM PRESIDENT TRUMP: He ominously said he was about to make a statement that might make some leave the room in disapproval. That got my attention! Then he went on to talk about the illegal drug situation. He proposes the only actual solution to the problem: Death Penalty for drug dealers. Said the countries who do that have no illegal drug problems. Fast trial and then expedient excecution. He added Cop Killers to the list of whom should get the death penalty. Also added those who kill through human trafficking.
He said it is the only way to have a real solution to ending the hundreds of thousands of drug related deaths and ruined lives and ruined families.
He is right, of course.
If you grok the term ‘grok’ then you could handle any of it.

Interestingly enough the word grok was invented by Robert A. Heinlein in his 1961 science fiction novel Stranger in a Strange Land.
Stranger in a Strange Land is also a song by my favorite band, Iron Maiden.

Actually, the Hemoglobin loves CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) even more than it loves O2. As well, the hemoglobin loves CO (Carbon Monoxide) way more than either. The term that we use is ‘affinity.’ Hemoglobin loves Carbon Monoxide, a lot. Of course, the O2 and CO2 are things which are mostly active on such levels that even most microscopes are not able to make them viewable.
These molecules can impact your lives in ways that you may never have considered. Hemoglobin has an affinity for CO which can result in your death in short order if permitted to permeate the atmosphere near you.
I believe that most persons are unaware of such things.

Robert Crimo III told cops he was a depressed drug user
New York Post ^ | July 7, 2022 | Lee Brown
Simple story and fantastic quotes all throughout. My boy shared it with his Unit in Iraq. They all read it it. Later he used it in his Class teaching upcoming Officers. Turns out, Military schools had been using that work for decades. It showed about camaraderie and a lot more. The movie was a joke, though I liked it.

You treat them, and the anger then comes to the surface. This happens mainly with modern SSRI anti depressants (and of course with meth/cocaine etc), but can happen with sedatives (including marijuana, heroin, and other street drugs).
Even non medical treatment such as psychoanalysis or hypnosis can do this. (I was a doc before they had these medicines)...
and this is why the depressed often commit suicide, not when they are severely depressed, but when they are starting to get better.
this is especially a problem if the depression is associated with bipolar disease, where giving them anti depressants can flip them into mania with paranoia and violence.
I once refused to treat one of my patients with hypnosis for cigarette smoking because I sensed his easy going personality was hiding anger. On talking with him, I found he hated his father who had abused him, and that after his psychiatrist started him on prozac, he was having trouble controlling the anger. I cautioned him about the drug and told him to tell his psychiatrist about the problem and maybe to switch medicines. but you also have to remember that the side effect of untreated depression is suicide, which is a major cause of death in both youth and the elderly...
