The tri-state area where Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia come together. Great fishing, hunting and can always find a place near a city or a cabin in the foothills of the smokey mountains. 4 hours from the ocean, 2 hours to snow in the mountains in winter, not to hot or to cold, good gun laws in all 3 states, mostly red in the country.

That sounds roughly like the Chattanooga area. We’ve been exploring Benton, TN. We just returned from a week on the lower Hiwassee. So quiet and peaceful. Right now, it’s near the top of our list for moving to. We have ruled out the Knoxville area because of the home prices and it’s too close to Gatlinburg. Way too much traffic for our liking.

Our time frame is also 2-3 years. If you have some knowledge of the area you’re describing, I’d love to know more. My Spring planting season doesn’t get here until Mother’s Day. I need it to come a month or so before that. I can handle the heat, but am very tired of snow and freezing temps in April and sometimes May.
