Attacking forces always take more casualties than defenders. That is why a rule of thumb for a successful attack is to have 3:1 ratio of attackers to defenders. Anyone who knows anything about war knows this.

When I was as in Germany in the late 70s that was ok for a movement to. Contact and hasty attack. A deliberate attack was 6-1 odds. That includes combat modifiers like arty, CAS vs ADA, minefields, combined arms, etc.
