That claim has been made about I-81 where it runs through Syracuse. They claim the elevated highway section of it divides the city, so they want to demolish it and put in a ground level highway, as if that is easier for people to cross.
Honestly, I swear a requirement to become a politician must be to fail an IQ test.
The only good idea they have concerning the project is to change 481 to become 81 instead of the bypass, and route all the interstate traffic around Syracuse, instead of through it, which is actually a good idea.
It’s only a 5 mile, 5 minute longer drive and much less constricted. An accident on 81 through the city now just snarls up traffic for half the city so the extra 5 minutes will be more than gained back.
Wilmington, Delaware has the same problem but ( of course) is missing from the list. Joe Biden’s state couldn’t have a racist highway.
