WASHINGTON (TND) — Pregnancy centers across the United States have been targeted by anti-abortion activists in recent weeks.
n Asheville, North Carolina, the Mountain Area Pregnancy Services' building was one of them. Vandals spraypainted the words, "If abortions aren't safe, neither are you."
Kristi Brown, the service's executive director, joined The National Desk Friday to give a firsthand account of what's going on at her job.
"Our Christian faith defines what we do. And these women have nowhere else to turn. Everything we do is free," Brown said. "They need love and support when they're in a crisis, and that's what a pregnancy center does ... And the greatest part of this job is seeing the lives changed and the lives healed and providing them hope when they're in true crisis situation."
Brown said the faith-based organization provides free services to women and families going through unplanned pregnancies; that includes pregnancy tests and some ultrasounds. For mothers who choose to carry their pregnancy to full term, the center provides free parenting classes and they earn items along the way they need for their baby.
Approximately 90% of clients the center serves "choose life," according to Brown.
"And then for those families that lose a baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth or abortion, we then have a special grief program for counseling and other things to support them," Brown explained.
The recent spraypaint vandalism happened before the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The radical pro-abortion group, Jane's Revenge, is taking credit for it.

Anti abortion people aren’t going to vandalize. It’s the pro abortion doing it themselves and news media pushing a narrative.

The article is written in a confusing way.
It’s a pro-life organization being attacked.
My daughter volunteers at a pregnancy center. They’ve had some meetings with security experts and have made some good changes including armed security.
